The Nature of Love
Love is as natural as the universe. By design, there is a
tension between the forces of creation and universal love. It
is this tension which controls the size of the universe,
holding it within its envelope. It is this tension which
regulates the size of an electron's orbit around a nucleus.
Love is the force which retains electrons in their orbits,
making atoms possible and the existence of life as we know it.
You can block love, or you can allow it to flow naturally
through you. Falling in love with another person is an
allowance of the flow of love through your heart. In a world
where everything has the appearance of separateness, it is a
surrender to the underlying unity of all life. It is a place
of apparent vulnerability, a willingness to take the risk
that separation will once again return if that love is later
lost.
When you allow your heart to open to the universe's flow of
love, gratitude comes with that flow. Gratitude for being
alive, for just existing, for just being in the flow of the
adventure of life. Gratitude for the Sun that gives us life.
Gratitude for the Earth that gives us our home in the cosmos.
Gratitude for the people that you love, and for those who
share your journey through life.
Gratitude flows unimpeded from an open heart. When you allow
it, it flows as freely as the sunshine, unobstructed by
judgments or conditions.

IS THIS THE ANSWER
Sunday, November 25, 2007
"LOVE IS THE ANSWER'
Well I do believe in God, and I have found a web site that maybe, can explain better than I, just why?
Why throw the baby out with the bath water, rejecting the logical and reasonable science
of the transmigration of the soul because of preconceived ideas, Westernized traditional
church doctrines, or personal prejudice? If Jesus taught us to love our neighbors, and
our neighbors happen to be Jews, Hindus, Hare Krishnas, Muslims, and Buddhists, we
would only be helping ourselves by understanding the way others think about God in
their own way. It is only to our own advantage to study other religions and the many
different ways others perceive God. Like university professors, we can study other
scriptures and religions with the view of finding corrollaries as well as differences.
Because God is ONE, the underlying similarities of all religions outweigh the differences
in doctrines and protocals. Studying the religions of others helps us become better,
more enlightened Christians. We can truly 'Love one another' better by understanding
how others think. Enthusiasm without knowedge is simply fanaticism. And, knowledge
without passion is dry speculation. A perfect Christian will have both the enthusiastic
passion of his convictions tempered by the sword of knowledge and wisdom. Jesus
commanded his real followers to "Love thy neighbor as thyself." Pretend Christians
cannot love others who are different than themselves. In this regard, Jesus teaches, "If
you love only your own kind, then what is the profit? For do not the sinners and common
folk do the same?" In this manner, Jesus was encouraging us to grow to spiritual maturity
by embracing others who are different than themselves. We would all be surprised that
the internals of all religions are the same. God and service to God is the central,
underlying theme. The externals prevent us from considering others as our brothers and
sisters, who all have God as our common Father. Jesus taught this. If we are real
Christians we will do this. If we are spiritual frauds, then we will discard others, falsely
thinking ourselves superior in some way, against Jesus Christ's orders.
If the history books are true, and Jesus studied in several Krishna temples, then why not
try to understand these higher levels of spiritual understanding called Krishna
consciousness? Jesus himself stated: "There is more that I could tell you, but you cannot
bear to hear it at this time." This is a clear indication that when Jesus comes again, he
will further enlighten us as to the mysterious identity of God the Father, the nature of the
spiritual world, and the higher, invisible, and more subtle principles governing spiritual
life in general. We may protest that we already know God and are sufficiently educated
in spiritual matters, but Jesus does not teach this. Jesus states, "None hath seen the
Father, except the Son." He also states: "I have spoken these things in parables and
cryptic meanings, but the hour is coming when I shall no longer speak to you in figures,
but shall tell you plainly of the Father."

This is the website, and I hope you check it out. But, I am sure that you can agree with me on one thing, we do have to start "loving our neighbor's" or we will all be fighting until the end of day's.

Skyler's Tournament"

Tomorrow is the first tournament of the wrestling season for Skyler. God willing, I will be there to see everyone. Its out of town so we will be gone all day, but he is so excited, that tonight he wanted to practice on me. LOL

He has been wrestling for a couple of years now, so no doubt he will beat his Dad's record when he goes to high school. After all he is only six. His Dad did not start wrestling until he was fourteen. He still holds the high school record in this town, so I am looking forward to that record being broken by his little boy.

This is Skyler and his ribbons from last year, this year he wants a trophy bigger than he is

Little Tid-Bits

A few little tid-bits about Christmas and Mistletoe...
Mistletoe Origins of its name - The common name of the plant is derived from the ancient belief that mistletoe was propagated from bird droppings. This belief was related to the then-accepted principle that life could spring spontaneously from dung. It was observed in ancient times that mistletoe would often appear on a branch or twig where birds had left droppings. "Mistel" is the Anglo-Saxon word for "dung," and "tan" is the word for "twig". So, mistletoe means "dung-on-a-twig".
| The Mistletoe Magic : |
| From the earliest times mistletoe has been one of the most magical, mysterious, and sacred plants of European folklore. It was considered to bestow life and fertility; a protection against poison; and an aphrodisiac. The mistletoe of the sacred oak was especially sacred to the ancient Celtic Druids. On the sixth night of the moon white-robed Druid priests would cut the oak mistletoe with a golden sickle. Two white bulls would be sacrificed amid prayers that the recipients of the mistletoe would prosper. Later, the ritual of cutting the mistletoe from the oak came to symbolize the emasculation of the old King by his successor. Mistletoe was long regarded as both a sexual symbol and the "soul" of the oak. It was gathered at both mid-summer and winter solstices, and the custom of using mistletoe to decorate houses at Christmas is a survival of the Druid and other pre-Christian traditions. The Greeks also thought that it had mystical powers and down through the centuries it became associated with many folklore customs. In the Middle Ages and later, branches of mistletoe were hung from ceilings to ward off evil spirits. In Europe they were placed over house and stable doors to prevent the entrance of witches. It was also believed that the oak mistletoe could extinguish fire. This was associated with an earlier belief that the mistletoe itself could come to the tree during a flash of lightning. The traditions which began with the European mistletoe were transferred to the similar American plant with the process of immigration and settlement. |

THE THINGS I'VE LEARNED

I've learned
I've learned....
That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.
I've learned....
That when you're in love, it shows.
I've learned....
That just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!" makes my day.
I've learned....
That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.
I've learned....
That being kind is more important than being right.
I've learned....
That you should never say "no" to a gift from a child.
I've learned....
That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.
I've learned....
That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.
I've learned....
That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.
I've learned....
That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.
I've learned....
That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.
I've learned....
That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.
I've learned....
That money doesn't buy class.
I've learned....
That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.
I've learned...
That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.
I've learned....
That the Lord didn't do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?
I've learned....
That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I've learned....
That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.
I've learned....
That love, not time, heals all wounds.
I've learned....
That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.
I've learned....
That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
I've learned....
That there's nothing sweeter than sleeping with your babies and feeling their breath on your cheeks.
I've learned....
That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
I've learned....
That life is tough, but I'm tougher.
I've learned....
That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.
I've learned....
That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
I've learned....
That I wish I could have told my Dad that I love him one more time before he passed away.
I've learned....
That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.
I've learned....
That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
I've learned....
That I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.
I've learned....
That when your newly born child holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.
I've learned....
That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.
I've learned ...
That it is best to give advice in only two circumstances; when it is requested and when it is a life threatening situation.
I've learned....
That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.
HAPPY FRIENDSHIP WEEK TO YOU!!!!!!
YOU ARE MY FRIEND AND I AM HONORED!

"TIS THE SEASON"
As we enter the dark, and often, as here, cold months of winter,
all too many people can become depressed, suffering from what the
doctors call "SAD" - "Seasonal Affective Disorder". The further
from the equator people live, the higher the incidences of SAD and
the worse the effects are we are told. We are also told that this
is a "disease" of the brain due to such causes as "melatonin
deficiency", due to the long, dark nights as well as many other
reasons.
As is often the case, what doctors do not know is that the Mind has
total dominion over the organic brain and also therefore our moods
as well as our state of health, aging and every other aspect of
physical existence.
If we have "sunny thoughts", we will feel happy. If we have dark
thoughts people will feel "sad" or depressed.
So if you feel "down" at this time of the year, or wish to feel
permanently happy, then make the effort to think happy, sunny
thoughts often, by remembering happy events as if you are there
now, and above all knowing, beyond any doubt, that your natural
state of Being is happiness, joy and peace, and by knowing only
those things they can only be your experience.
Doctors may advise seeking a powerful light source for "SAD", or
sitting in front of the window for 30 minutes, but again these are
all physical actions. There is only one fundamental Universal
Principle above all others - Mind. So instead of sitting in front
of a window or sitting in a very bright room, imagine and visualise
yourself being outside on the brightest and sunniest summers day,
and this alone will invoke a much more powerful and enduring effect.
Whenever you feel "sad" for any reason, use the power of your Mind
to become happy again, knowing above all else that as aspects and
expressions of the ultimate Source of Light, we have the power
within us to realise anything at all, and above all that we
influence our external reality including our health and the way we
feel - not the other way around.

LISTEN TO THE WHISPER

Listen to the Whisper!!!
A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something.
As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into The Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and spun the Jag back to the Spot where the brick had been thrown.
He jumped out of the car, grabbed the kid who was standing there and Pushed him against a parked car shouting, "What do you think you are doing, boy?"
Building up a head of steam he went on, "That's a new car and that brick You threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?"
"Please sir, please. I'm sorry, I didn't know what else to do," pleaded the youngster.
"I threw the brick because no one else would stop..."
Tears were dripping down the boy's chin as he pointed around the parked car.
"It's my brother, sir," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up."
Sobbing, the boy asked the executive, "Would you please help me get him Back into his wheelchair, sir? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."
Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump In his throat. He lifted the young man back into the wheelchair and took out his handkerchief and wiped the scrapes and cuts, checking to see that everything was going to be okay.
"Thank you and may God bless you, sir," the grateful child said to him. The man then watched the little boy push his brother toward their home. It was a long walk back to his Jaguar...a long slow walk.
He never did repair the side door.
He kept the dent to remind him not to go through life so fast that Someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention.
God whispers in your soul and speaks to your heart.
Sometimes when you don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at you.
It's your choice:
Listen to the whisper.... or wait for the brick.

THE LANGUAGE OF JESUS

Aramaic was the language of Semitic culture, the language of the Hebrew patriarchs and, in the older days, the lingua franca of the Fertile Crescent. The term “Hebrew” is derived from the Aramaic word Abar or Habar which means “ to cross over.” This name was given to the Hebrew people simply because Abraham and the people who were with him crossed the river Euphrates and went to Palestine.
Therefore, they were known by those who lived east of the river Euphrates as Hebrew, that is, “the people across the river.” All branches of the great Semitic people had a common speech. How could the people of Nineveh have understood Jonah, a Hebrew prophet, had the Biblical Hebrew tongue been different from Aramaic
The term Aramaic is derived from Aram, the fifth son of Shem, the firstborn of Noah. See Gen. 10:22. The descendants of Aram dwelt in the fertile valley, Padan-aram also known as Beth Nahreen.
The Aramaic language in Padan-aram remained pure, and in the course the common language (lingua franca), of all the Semitic clans. By the 8th century B.C. it was the major language from Egypt to Asia Minor to Pakistan. It was employed by the great Semitic empires, Assyria and Babylon. The Persian (Iranian) government also used Aramaic in their Western provinces.
The language of the people of Palestine shifted from Hebrew to Aramaic sometime between 721-500 B.C. Therefore, we know that Jesus, his disciples and contemporaries spoke and wrote in Aramaic. The message of Christianity spread throughout Palestine, Syria and Mesopotamia in this Semitic tongue.
Use of the Aramaic language had become common by the period of the Chaldean Empire (626-539 B.C.). It became the official language of the Imperial government in Mesopotamia and enjoyed general use until the spread of Greek (331 B.C.). Although Greek had spread throughout these Eastern lands, Aramaic remained dominant and the linqua franca of the Semitic peoples. This continued to be so until Aramaic was superseded by a sister Semitic tongue, Arabic, about the 13th century A.D. to the 14th century A.D., when Arabic supplanted Aramaic after the Arab conquest in the 7th Century. However, the Christians of Mesopotamia (Iraq), Iran, Syria, Turkey and Lebanon kept the Aramaic language alive domestically, scholastically and liturgically. In spite of the pressure of the ruling Arabs to speak Arabic, Aramaic is still spoken today in its many dialects, especially among the Chaldeans and Assyrians.

"The Joy of Children"

A nurse on the pediatric ward, before listening to the little ones
chests, would plug the stethoscope into their ears and let them listen
to their own hearts. Their eyes would always light up with awe, but
she never got a response equal to four-year old David's comment.
Gently she tucked the stethoscope into his ears and placed the disk
over his heart. "Listen", she said..........."What do you suppose that is?"
He drew his eyebrows together in a puzzled line and looked up as if lost
in the mystery of the strange tap - tap - tapping deep in his chest. Then
his face broke out in a wondrous grin and he asked, "Is that
Jesus knocking?"
Life is short, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh
Uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile!!!

Ralph's Book

My son has written a very political book, and he has given me the honor of proof-reading and a little bit of editing. I think it is a good book with a lot of good points. Right now the way the world is headed is not a pretty place, and its time for all of us to take a stand. This is my sons way of saying, "I have had enough, I can't take it anymore!" or in better ways....."I am mad as hell and I WON'T take it anymore!"
Either way, he will not be pointing at something and saying " I remember when we had the right to speak our mind." He will speak his and I will be right there with him. If he finds a publisher, this book will be out before election 2008. Things to ponder....

TREASURES OF FALL

Within sweet nature's love
Greatest time to while away
The joy and beauty of
Imaginations filled with life
As winds now change their shift
Hearing all the special joys
Within sweet autumn's gift
Gazing in this special light
As words are heard to share
Reaching for great happiness
With blessings to compare
Dreaming now within the day
With colors bright and warm
Gives the peace of gentle love
For days with autumn's dawn
Come and sit a spell with me
We'll share this special time
Basking in this nature's love
So majestically divine
Cool brisk days of love to share
With season in sweet prime
Close your eyes and make a wish
As winds and hearts will chime.

A GREAT WEEK-END"

It was a wonderful time for all of us. This past week-end was the last before I return to Ohio, so we have been really busy.
Wendy had her birthday, and we were out most of the night that night. The next day we went to the Sports page for the football game.
After a couple of beers, I was ready for a nap. LOL Can't take it anymore. Then, yesterday and last night I had my grandaughters, Destiny and Faith. Faith is only seven months old and she is cutting teeth, so she was irrateable, and cried a lot during the night. (Now I know why God decided not to let old women have babies) I was so tired this morning, because she only slept a few minutes at a time all night. Poor Destiny, is used to having me play with her like I do Skyler, but with Faith feeling so poorly, we did not do much fun things.
Her little heart was broke.Four more days, and I will be home with Skyler. It was fun and I loved every minute of it but I sure miss that little boy at home. I can't wait to see him again. Love and Hugs

KARMA
Article: Instant Karma Karma, in the popular view, is often perceived as the bogey man of Eastern philosophy, as the stick that punishes you for doing the wrong thing. In reality it is much simpler than that, and it carries no judgmental overtone at all. Karma is simply reflectance. Reflectance is a property of the universe. Therefore, life reflects what you project. This principle of reflectance or karma states that life reflects your beliefs, emotions and actions. The stronger these are, the more apparent it becomes that life is a mirror of whatever you project. Whenever you change the way you view life, the universe, just like a mirror, reflects your new view of reality. This may not occur instantaneously as, often, circumstances do not allow the new reflection to immediately manifest. In this case, the new reality is held, like a pressure within the aura of your body's subtle magnetic field. You then walk around in life, surrounded by this magnetic potential, your "karmic pattern," as it influences your circumstances to adapt into a form where the new reality will be able to manifest and operate. Reflectance, sooner or later, produces manifestation. Therefore, if you don't like something in your life, the most powerful way to change it is to discover how you have generated that reflection. Then change your point of view - the beliefs, viewpoints and energies that you put into your life - so that the reflection is changed. It's just like the law in physics: "For every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction." This law goes much deeper than just a law of mechanical motion. It is how the universe is designed at all levels. Reflectance is entirely automatic. There is no judge. No one looms over you, threatening retribution for imaginary sins. However, because this law of life is automatic, you have to be the one to initiate change. It will not come to you until you take the initiative, until you create the action so that there can be a reaction. If you seek more happiness from life, the mirror of life will shine more happiness back upon you, just as soon as you decide, within yourself, to become a happier person. Then it will reflect your new reality. Your power lies in how you respond to the circumstances which have been created in your life. Circumstances, within themselves, are inherently neutral. It is human judgment that assigns positive and negative values to those circumstances. It is a paradox of life that the challenges of difficult times can produce the most happiness in the end. Remember that if "bad" circumstances are affecting you, it is often not because of some "bad" way that you thought or behaved in the past, but because you planned your life so that it would present certain challenges. How you respond to those challenges is the whole point of the exercise. The strongest steel is that which is quenched from great heat and the most compassionate heart is one which has seen great suffering in the world. Your viewpoint is your response to the picture that life presents, and it is totally under your control. Your viewpoint determines what energies you will put into life and therefore what the mirror of life will reflect back. Life is a mirror. Smile, and it will immediately smile back at you. *If you enjoyed today's article, forward it to a friend! They will appreciate your thoughtfulness. NOW I KNOW
She is standing there as she always did, when she was saying he favorite phrase, "I did'nt do it!"

Anyway, this Saturday is her birthday and her brother wanted to take her for dinner and a movie, but I ask her what she wants. She wants to invite her friends from work to a big bonfire at her home. She has a big back yard, and there has been ample rain here lately, so I think she she have her wish. (after all its not every day you become ??) Maybe I should leave that up to her.

I know she will have fun, and I know I have lots of work to do on Saturday, preparing snacks, and such.

Wish you could be here to celebrate with us. Love and hugs!
